The Killing Fields

The Killing Fields is a 1984 British biographical drama film about the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, which is based on the experiences of two journalists: Cambodian Dith Pran and American Sydney Schanberg.

Return to K.I.D.

This is a heartfelt and emotional story of a Cambodian son returning with his family to Cambodia and retracing the story of his family as refugees. It will give you an insight into the journey of a refugee family.  It is particularly sad as Vanna - the director and main character passed away from a rare blood condition just before the movie had finished production.  It was unable to be released at the cinema's due to Covid-19 so has been available through you tube to watch.

“People across Australia and all over the world are hungry for opportunities to better understand the current refugee phenomenon. The Seang family’s story will connect with a wide audience as it speaks to the hardship and trauma that families go through in the hope of a new life. It’s also a beautiful example of a family that left a painful, traumatic past behind and created a new and successful life in Australia.” – Director, Vanna Seang
