                       1910-1944

Futurism was an artistic and social movement that originated in Italy in the early-twentieth century. It emphasised and embraced contemporary concepts of the future including speed, technological progress and youth. Objects such as the car, the aeroplane and the industrial city. It was mainly an Italian phenomenon but influenced other European cities. Futurism explored bold, complex and fragmented typography, shapes and icons.
